7/31 Homework

The projects are coming together

This weekend you need to work on drawing, inking and coloring the assets for the Godzilla project.

Monday we will look at each of your projects and I will give you feedback on how to fine tune them

Also on Monday we will begin talking about adding sound to your animations.

7/30 Homework



Homework
1. Color your zombie and re-upload to the zombie discussion board
2. Draw, ink and color your characters and backgrounds for the Godzilla animation
  • Keep background simple, no shading or texture, let the program do that for you when you color the work.
  • If you want an object to move independently of the background draw it separately. Example, clouds, butterflies, airplane.
3. Below I have place images that may be of some help. Bird in flight, trees, locations.

7/29 Homework

Great job everyone your 
cartoon heads and bodies 
are looking fantastic!

1. Go to the "Practice Movie" tab at the top of the blog follow the directions as you create a practice movie, export it and up load to the Practice Movie discussion board. Due at the start of class tomorrow.

2. Go to the Draw yourself as a Zombie tab at the top of the blog and follow the directions as you turn yourself into a zombie.

Make to use the techniques you have been shown in class. For drawing, feet, head, hands and the pose.

7/28 Homework

1. Upload the sample page shown below of your character to the "Create a full body cartoon character of yourself" board.


2. Upload "Revised full body cartoon character of yourself" to discussion board.

                                                   

3. Reply to your peers.
  • After uploading your final concept drawing to the "Revised cartoon character" discussion board with its description added to it, please comment on two other fellow students character pages on the discussion boards 
  • Try to find examples from the character description that match the drawing, be specific. 
  • If one person already has two replies move on to someone else. Once you have replied to 2 people you may then go back in and comment on anyone else you would like.
  • limit each response to 30 words.

4. Go to the Heads discussion board and follow the direction on the blog.
  • Take photo
  • Watch video
  • Draw then ink.
  • DO NOT ADD COLOR
  • Make sure to upload the photos you used for the head drawings
  • Due tomorrow morning at the start of class.
  • Upload to the cartoon head discussion board along with the original photo that you based the drawing on.

2. If you are done with them, I have added a tab at the top of the blog titled "Studio Card". The studio card goes at the very front or the back of your animation production. If you had a big animation company what would you call it? would it have a mascot? Would it be animated?

Fishing, waving, looking around, having the character walk in, looking scared, blinking, moving the eyes around.

6/12 Homework

Homework

1. Import your background drawings into Adobe animate and color them. Due Monday 9am, at that time you will be using them to build your movie. If you would like to start early you may. If you do make sure to set up 3 scenes as shown in the practice movie project.

2. As shown in class and on the Practice Movie tab on the blog, create a 3 scene movie and upload the exported content to the Practice movie discussion board on canvas. Due Monday 9am.

3. Go to the tab on the Blog titled "Sequential Art" and review the information for Monday.

4. If you liked Don Hertzfeldt's work check out some of his other animation, it really shows that you do not need a fancy background and you can use stick figures to create an interesting animation.

6/11 Homework

Homework

1. If you have not colored your character in Animate please do so for tomorrows class.

2. If you have not done so please got to the "Classic Tween" tab at the top of the blog and follow the directions. Upload your exported movie to the discussion board titled "Simple Tween" on canvas.

3. Go to the tab on the blog labeled "Layout Design" and read through the information for tomorrows class.

4. Go to the tab on the blog labeled "Backgrounds" have a look at all of the different backgrounds that are shown, some are from video games, TV and film.

5. In your sketchbook, doodle or sketch out some ideas that you might have that you can use for your backgrounds. Tomorrow at 9 be ready to talk about the backgrounds or environments that you think would best suit your cartoon character.

Hi,
1. Go to the character design tab and follow the directions, the pencil version of your character is due tomorrow morning.
2. Go to the Feet tab at the top of the blog and watch the video, as you do, follow along and draw the same page in your sketchbook.
3. Go to the Hand tab at the top of the blog and try drawing the rest of the hands.
4. I have two discussion boards set up in canvas, one for the hands & feet and the other your Pencil only character design.
